The cassatella is a typical dessert of the city of Agira with a thousand-year history, of which the Spanish culture is certainly the most probable mother of our cassatella. Since there are no written sources on the birth of cassatella, we can only refer to ancient oral and empirical sources, what is certain is that Agira cassatella is born from the mixture of poor ingredients. The pistachio cassatella with its Sicilian pistachio cream garnished with chopped pistachios is the alternative to the chocolate one. Ideal to accompany tea or to take a small sweet break during the day.
