Almond cake is one of the desserts most prepared in the period preceding the main religious holidays (Easter and Christmas). Due to its extended chef life, it is exported all over the world during the holidays, together with infinite almond-based preparations.
The dessert consists of sponge cake discs filled with apricot jam. The outside is made with almond paste and garnished with candied fruit.
